Pay It Forward
The following letter has been sent home will all Humanities students today:

On Wednesday,
December 18 and Thursday, December 19, 2019 during Humanities periods 1-2 (6-3)
and 3-4 (6-4) we will be watching the film Pay
It Forward. This letter is to notify you that this film is rated PG and therefore contains some

We are watching this film as we have recently read Pay It Forward as a class novel study.
Students are encouraged to compare and contrast various types of media and
texts, the film will be used for students to compare and contrast the storyline
from the novel and compare it to that of the film. Students have completed
several reading and writing tasks in regard to the novel and the film will
summarize this unit of study. Below outlines how this is applicable to the grade
six ELA Program of Study:
2.2 Respond to Texts
Experience various texts
· experience oral, print and
other media texts from a variety of cultural traditions and genres, such as
autobiographies, travelogues, comics, short films, myths, legends and dramatic
performances
